My EdRising Moment: Seeing your students succeed

My journey into the world of education began with a transformative experience during my junior year of high school. I volunteered as a tutor for younger students struggling with math and reading. Witnessing their progress ignited a passion within me. I realized that education is not just about imparting knowledge but also about inspiring confidence and fostering growth.

This moment was pivotal. It solidified my desire to pursue a teaching career. I am drawn to education because it is a powerful tool for change. Educators have the unique ability to shape minds, influence futures, and create opportunities for all students, regardless of their backgrounds. I believe that every child deserves access to quality education, and I want to be part of that mission.

Through teaching, I want to empower students to think critically, embrace diversity, and develop a lifelong love for learning. My involvement with Educators Rising has further fueled my passion. This organization provides invaluable resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities for aspiring educators like myself.

Being part of this community has allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals who share my commitment to educational excellence. The support from experienced educators inspires me daily and reinforces my belief that teaching is not just a profession but a calling. I am excited about my future in education and eager to contribute positively as an educator.

Bailey Hoover is an Educators Rising national ambassador and the chief communications officer for Educators Rising Ohio. She is a senior at Lima Senior High School in Lima, Ohio. She plans to study secondary education with hopes of becoming a high school history teacher.
