Save time, knowing that you now have assessments covered.
High quality teaching includes regular student assessment, including formative checks for understanding. Our new Educators Rising Lesson Assessments platform provides teachers a ready-to-go assessment solution aligned to the Educators Rising Standards and Educators Rising Curriculum.
Our solution saves teachers time with an assessment strategy that can be tailored to your needs. Choose from, or combine, automatically-graded multiple selection style questions for each lesson in the Educators Rising Curriculum with teacher-graded short response questions. Teachers already have access to a daily formative assessment in each of our curriculum lessons and can now bolster their instructional program with enhanced items in a platform that’s easy for students to use and navigate.
What Sets Lesson Assessments Apart
Benefits for Students
A well-developed assessment showcases what a student knows and understands, directing teachers to the next step for instruction. You could argue that assessment is a critical part of a quality instructional program. Not only do you want your students to know about teaching and learning, you want them to understand what goes into a quality assessment.
Our new Educators Rising Lesson Assessments are designed to give students specific feedback on their performance, including details about the type of distractors that are used with each question after the students complete the assessment! This is all delivered in an online, easily-navigable platform that students access after signing into our Membership platform. Student feedback also has teachers covered by providing answer rationales that students can review once their assessment has been graded. Controlled beta testing of our product with real students and teachers allowed us to custom tailor the solution based on feedback to address both educator and student needs.
Benefits for Teachers
We know that the innovations teachers care most about are those that help with their efficiency, and having an entire curriculum’s lessons available with matched assessments takes a huge burden off a teacher’s rotating to-do list. Starting July 1, 2024, we will have the Year 1 (Units 1-5) of the Educators Rising Curriculum covered in the new assessments platform and will have Year 2 (Units 6-10) available soon!.
While short-response questions must be reviewed by teachers, the platform includes both a 4- and 6-point rubric for each question, helping to simplify the grading process.
While no single assessment is perfect, our new platform offers questions with varying degrees of difficulty or rigor applied, using Webb’s Depth of Knowledge (DOK) as the framework. This means that our assessments do not just check for surface knowledge; they take learning next-level by including questions that require students to think more deeply about the covered content.
When combined with the assessment of teaching opportunities in your school, the platform provides a well-rounded assessment strategy that’s aligned with our curriculum and that well-prepares students for a variety of careers in the education sector.
New for 2024-25 SY
This short video provides an overview of our new lesson assessments product from PDK International to support our Educators Rising Curriculum subscribers.
Educators Rising provides both a vibrant community and a specialized curriculum to address the teacher shortage in the profession. All Grow Your Own Programs are not the same! Our CTSO model with school chapters coupled with regional, state, and national events strengthens the experience students have in the classroom when teachers use our curriculum built upon standards developed with national partners that help you ensure that students are well-prepared to enter into education careers and higher education options.
The aim of assessment is primarily to educate and improve student performance, not merely to audit it.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I customize the assessments in the new platform?
- Teachers can choose to offer, by lesson, the selected response and/or the short response questions. Teachers are not able to add their own questions or assign a subset of questions from either group.
- How do I manage student accounts in the new platform?
- We designed the experience so that students access the assessment platform from our Membership portal. As long as your roster of students are all paid Active Members under your school, they can login to the Membership portal to access the platform seamlessly to see which assessments are assigned.
- Can students re-take their assessments?
- Students are allowed up to two retakes on the assessments. After an assessment is completed, students have 48 hours to review their results and feedback before requesting a retake.
- How will training be provided for teacher leaders?
- A comprehensive set of videos and guides are available inside the Membership portal. These will be available to all Curriculum subscribers so you can be well-acquainted with the new product ahead of adoption.
- Is the Educators Rising Lesson Assignments free? Or is there a cost?
- Our new program will typically require a small additional investment beyond the price for our Curriculum. However, for subscribers who have signed a renewal contract on or before December 15, 2024, Educators Rising is offering the platform at no-charge until June 30, 2025. After that, you can include the Assessments platform as an add-on to your annual contract.

Sustainable Funding Models
Our webinar, opposite, presents the multiple ways that schools and districts can fund their Grow Your Own teacher program. Among CTE programs, ours is among the least expensive! Yet in addition to providing your students an early advantage to develop the competencies and knowledge for teaching, you’re building out the pipeline for future educators right in your community.
In short, districts leverage the following funding types to provide our program in their schools:
- CTE Perkins Funding (See guidance from 2023 USED Office of CTE on using Perkins for Grow Your Own programs)
- District Budgeting
- Title Funding (Title I-IV)
- ESSER/ARP Funding (PDF) (by 30 Sept 2024)
- State Title IIA and Title III funding
- Grants and Philanthropic Sources
- Local Funding
