We want you to look your best—ensuring confidence—when you arrive on sight in Portland. This post is going to cover the 2026 Educators Rising National Conference Attire Guidelines for participating students and competitors.
Our goal is to create a professional, welcoming environment where every student can participate confidently. We encourage attire that is modest, presentable, and appropriate for competitions, without placing a burden on anyone.
General Expectations
- Students should appear modest, neat, and conference-ready.
- Clothing should be clean, wrinkle-free, and fit appropriately.
- The goal is to present yourself in a way that supports your confidence and professionalism—not to create unnecessary barriers.
Culturally significant clothing and adornment are welcome at all times during the conference.
Name Badge Requirement
Remember that conference name badges are part of the dress code and must be worn anytime attendees are in the Oregon Convention Center. Name badges help with safety, organization, and creating a professional conference environment.
Recommended Attire: Business Casual
Students should plan to dress in business casual clothing for all competitions and conference activities unless otherwise noted. Business casual allows for comfort while still presenting a polished appearance. Culturally significant clothing and adornment are welcome.
What is Not Allowed?
To maintain a respectful and professional environment, please avoid:
- Clothing with holes, excessive distressing, or inappropriate or political graphics
- Pajama pants, shorts, or overly casual attire
- Any clothing that is low-cut or reveals any part of the midriff, front or back, including crop tops, low-cut tops, or extremely short skirts that are shorter than the fingertips
- Hats or head coverings during competitions (unless worn for religious or cultural reasons)
