Teaching Channel Forges Support for Educators Rising

Arlington, VA & Eagan, MN—June 3, 2024—PDK International and Teaching Channel are proud today to announce a new collaborative partnership in support of PDK International’s Educators Rising program. Teaching Channel will be on-site at the 2024 Educators Rising National Conference to collect video footage of student competitions, plus to capture video interviews with our rising educator members and their teacher leaders who will convene this summer in Washington, D.C. from June 28-July 1.

Teaching Channel supports students by helping educators thrive and perform at their best through online professional development. Their video platform—which captures authentic classroom instruction and teacher interviews—is used by educators across the country to enhance and bolster instructional practice.

In addition to capturing the spirit of the largest Educators Rising National Conference to date with over 3,000 attendees, Teaching Channel is offering access to PDK International’s members to the Teaching Channel video platform as part of their membership.

“This partnership is going to provide a valuable resource to our education members, and the chance to capture the authentic view of the nation’s strongest Grow Your Own teacher preparation program will add value to the professional development Teaching Channel can provide its subscribers to better understand how we are addressing the teacher shortage impacting too many districts at the moment,” says James Lane, chief executive of PDK International, who hosts the annual Educators Rising National Conference.

“We wanted to support Educators Rising after learning more about the program and how PDK International is cultivating in students a strong desire to make a difference in the world by choosing a career in education. We stand proud to partner with them in the effort to raise the quality of experiences students around the country can have in their school’s classrooms,” said Mike Smith, president of Teaching Channel.

“We are hoping that our teacher leaders in schools across the country will start to use the rich video library from Teaching Channel to bolster their instruction in the coming year.
