Good luck to all our students competing today. If today isn’t your day to compete, consider cheering on your fellow students. The following competitions are open to spectators:

  • Creative Lecture Group A (Liberty I)
  • Creative Lecture Group B (Liberty J)
  • Educators Rising Moment A (Congress)
  • Educators Rising Moment B (Mint)
  • Public Speaking A (Supreme Court)
  • Public Speaking B (Monument)

We are going into high gear with our breakout sessions today. With so many sessions offered, you are sure to find a topic that interests you. Use the conference app to browse the topics and speakers for sessions at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.

At noon, head to the Marquis Ballroom (or the Independence Ballroom for overflow crowds) for the Membership Recognition Lunch. The keynote speaker is Amy Loyd, the assistant secretary of the Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education at the U.S. Department of Education. Loyd will be discussing the department’s new nationwide pathways initiative, “Raise the Bar: Unlocking Career Success.”

The College and Innovation Fair continues today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Independence Foyer/Liberty M. Special dedicated time from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. has been set aside for students. Representatives from colleges, universities, and organizations are waiting to help you get one step closer to becoming an educator. Make sure to scan QR codes to help you win the scavenger hunt.

Drop by Dogwood today from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to help sort and organize books donated for Martha’s Table, a Washington, D.C., children’s education, nutrition, and emotional wellness support organization. Students who sign in will receive community service credit.

Cheer on our graduating seniors from across the country as they celebrate their commitment to education or join the festivities yourself in our third annual National Signing Event from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Marquis Ballroom.

Stick around after the signing event to enjoy great music and dance moves at the Lip Sync Battle/Karaoke program from 8 to 11 p.m. in the Marquis Ballroom. Want to show what you can do on stage? Sign up for the Lip Sync Battle! (Act now—sign ups fill up quickly!)

Download and use the conference app to see announcements, hotel maps and room numbers, schedule changes, scavenger hunt information, and to post photos and send messages to your fellow student conference goers.
