Educators Rising Collegiate
in partnership with Aspiring Educators

Providing a broad, consistent level of support at the collegiate level to future educators through resources and advocacy.

Inspire. Amplify. Teach.

13% of Educators Rising Collegiate students who want to become teachers begin working as credentialed teachers right after college.

Educators Rising students have support and opportunities throughout college! We are excited to partner with Aspiring Educators to provide a seamless transition from secondary to post-secondary education for our members and provide continued support as they continue their journey to the classroom.

The National Education Association (NEA) and Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) have joined forces to better serve the pre-service teacher. The NEA has committed a full endorsement of PDK’s Educators Rising program in middle and high school while PDK endorses the NEA’s Aspiring Educators for their post-secondary experience.

Amy Lee Campos from Texas A&M International University was the 2021-2022 Educators Rising Moment competition national champion. Educators Rising Collegiate and Aspiring Educators members are able to participate in competitions at the regional, state, and national levels.

Educators Rising has a programmatic influence of well over 400 chapters at the post-secondary level and all members get the combined resources of Educators Rising and Aspiring Educators, including but not limited to:

  • A digital subscription to Kappan magazine – including guided discussion questions – to keep future educators involved in the latest research in the education field to reinforce what they are learning in collegiate classrooms.
  • National competitions to explore additional areas such as public speaking and children’s book authorship (in both English and Spanish!).
  • Eligibility to attend both the Educators Rising and Aspiring Educators conferences to network with other future teachers from across the United States.
  • A tie in to the advocacy work done by Aspiring Educators around issues important to current and future teachers.

Educators Rising and Aspiring Educators members have access to multiple conferences to network with current and future educators.

In some ways, the partnership with Aspiring Educators is a coming home for Educators Rising. After all, our program was originally created by the NEA as the Future Teachers of America and later the Future Educators Association before becoming the Educators Rising in 2015.

Over 250,000 students have come through FEA/Educators Rising with 130,000 of those just in the past few years. Recognition from the Department of Education, the success of our Educators Rising program in secondary schools, and now our partnership with Aspiring Educators, gives us hope for America’s public education future. Please join our movement and create your own community-based teacher pathway with us.

The partnership between Educators Rising and Aspiring Educators was announced in June of 2022, at the same time that U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona named three programs as exemplars for Grow Your Own Programs: Educators Rising, Connecticut, and Washington. As Connecticut’s efforts use Educators Rising, we are exceptionally honored by the mention.
